Sylvia's Baked Apples

Hello Ladies!  We have just enjoyed a favourite of mine, stuffed baked apples. 


Simple and delicious!

Ingredients: 
  • Apples
  • Fig, chopped
  • Dates, chopped
  • Currants
  • Sultanas
  • Golden syrup
  • Cream

Recipe:

Firstly make a cut in the skin of the apple around it’s middle and core. 



Plug the bottom of cavity with chopped fig and date. Fill to half way with currants and sultanas. Then spoon in a dollop of golden syrup, letting it soak through. Fill cavity with a few more raisins and top off with a bit of fig and another dollop of syrup. 




Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 20 mins. Keep an eye as they can burst if over cooked. I serve without the top skin and generous cream!  The cut around the circumference is crucial! It could just go everywhere if not allowed to rise at the split.
